Privacy
This page describes what happens to data when you visit this site. As it stands there is no advertising, no analytics and no tracking of any kind, and the site sets no cookies at all. The sections below say exactly that, and set out what would change if it ever does.
What we collect directly
Nothing. There is no sign-in, no newsletter, no comment form, and no database. Which promise you draw is decided in your browser and is never transmitted.
Cookies
None. The site sets no cookies of its own, and as it currently stands no third party sets any either — so there is nothing here to consent to or to opt out of.
Third-party scripts
None load while you read. Every page, font, icon and image is served from this site’s own domain; there is no advertising script, no analytics, and no tag manager on any page. Nothing on the site calls out to another company as you use it.
Server logs
The site is static and hosted on Google Firebase Hosting, which keeps ordinary web-server logs of requests: the IP address, the page asked for, the time, and the browser’s user-agent string. Those logs belong to the hosting provider and exist to serve and secure the site. We do not use them to build any picture of an individual visitor.
Analytics
None. No analytics or measurement script runs on the site today, so no page view of yours is counted anywhere. If that changes — Google Analytics, for aggregate page counts, is the likely candidate — this page will be updated the day it goes live and will say exactly what it sets.
Advertising
There is none yet. The intention is that the site will eventually carry advertising, since it costs money to run and readers are asked for nothing. Nothing is in place, and until it is, no advertising cookie is set and no ad network learns of your visit. When that starts, this page will be updated the same day; these are the terms that will apply:
- Google’s use of advertising cookies would enable it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the internet.
- You could opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings at https://adssettings.google.com.
- You could opt out of third-party vendors’ use of cookies for personalised advertising at https://optout.aboutads.info and https://www.youronlinechoices.com.
- Third-party vendors and ad networks other than Google might also serve ads on this site; their own privacy policies would govern that use.
Data stored on your device
If you install the site or visit it more than once, a service worker stores a copy of the pages and fonts on your device so it works offline. That cache lives only in your browser and holds nothing but the site’s own files — no identifier is written alongside it, and the site uses no local storage otherwise. Clearing your browser data or uninstalling the app removes it.
Analytics and advertising requests are already excluded from that cache, so if either is ever added it will always go to the network rather than being stored on your device.
Children
This site is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from them.
Your choices
There is nothing to opt out of at present. You can block cookies and scripts entirely in your browser settings and the site will behave exactly as it does now. If analytics or advertising are added later, the opt-out routes described above are how to decline them.
Changes
If this policy changes materially, the revised version will be published on this page.
